Boneset

Boneset is a large clump forming perennial that readily spreads if happy. It has flat topped clusters of white flowers that emerge in late-summer and persist into early fall. It will bloom for weeks! Attracts Butterflies and other pollinators. It is a host for 40 species of Lepidoptera. Does best in average to wet soil but can tolerate sandy and clay soils. Its moderate salt tolerance makes it a suitable plant for rain gardens and catch basin plantings. Boneset has a long history of being used for a variety of medicinal uses. All of the plant is quite bitter and toxic which is why deer and other animals tend to avoid it.
